After several months of review, 5-SLN will be launching TransferWise as a "5-SLN Industry Partner" at the upcoming conference.
TransferWise is an on-line facility that can be used for international payments in 27 currencies (other than your local currency).
TransferWise offers a significantly better currency conversion rate than available via normal banking channels and, in addition, both the remitter and the recipient save on banking fees.

In addition, TransferWise users in many countries can set up a "Borderless Account" that allow say, an Australian Company to pay you in EUR by depositing the equivalent into "your" bank account in Australia.

BreakBulk Europe 2018:
BreakBulk Europe 2018, the world’s largest exhibition for the project cargo and breakbulk industry will be taking place in Bremen, Germany from May 29-31, 2018.
Trevor Titley, Founder and CEO of 5-SLN will be attending this event along with Ernst van der Heijden, Executive Director and Anthony Calagna, Member Support Manager of 5-SLN's Memorandum of Understanding partners, GLN (Global Logistics Network). The 5-SLN/GLN Team would be interested in meeting with members from either network attending this event.
For more than a decade, Breakbulk Europe has served as the networking hub for industry professionals who do business in Europe—or would like to! Exhibitors and sponsors include cargo owners, ocean carriers, freight forwarders, ports/terminals, heavy haulers, equipment companies and more that are involved in this specialized industry. In addition to exceptional networking opportunities, Breakbulk Europe provides a dynamic conference, along with a range of educational and training workshops — intensive all-day classes held the day before the exhibition opens as well as many on-the-floor sessions.
European Meeting:
5-SLN and GLN are considering jointly hosting a 1-day European Meeting on June 01, 2018 and are seeking expressions of interest from 5-SLN Members as to whether they would be interested in attending.
The format would be to offer the morning to Members to present topic of interest to other members (such as upcoming DG or IATA regulations, Trucking and/or LCL Groupage cooperation, etc.) The afternoon would be spent on pre-scheduled One-on-One Meetings.
Members from outside Europe would obviously be welcome to attend.
